Word, our parents had pretty tough lives. Compared to what we have now, they had shit (that was the case with my parents, at least). Then they bring us into the world and work to provide us with the best lives possible. In return, they get yelled at by us, ‘cause “they’re wrong” and we know everything.
It happened with our parents too, and it’ll happen with our kids, just the natural order of things. “Growing up comfortably,” leaves room for spoiled children, usually ungrateful and inconsiderate of the amount of effort the generation above put into the world. It’s okay though, because while respect is very important, and possibly the handiest virtue a child could have, what really matters at the end of the day, and what most of our parents have striven for in their lives, was to give the plausibility of success they might have not had. Opportunity is such an underrated gift.
But yeah, The world is fast-moving place, and as long as you can pull your weight in the meritocracy, or prove yourself otherwise - you’re good.
